Teaching Tennis Essentials Workshop
Alaska Club East, AnchorageMay 31 - June 1
The Professional Tennis Registry (PTR), an international tennis teaching organization with about 13,000 members, will be sending one of its certified trainers to Anchorage to hold a tennis teaching workshop at the Alaska Club East in Anchorage on May 31 and June 1. The workshop runs 9am–6pm on Saturday and 9-11am on Saturday, with an optional certification testing starting at 11 AM on Sunday. You can find more information and register at the PTR website at: http://www.ptrtennis.org/index.htm .
Joining the PTR and taking this workshop is a great opportunity not only for current and future tennis coaches, but also for juniors wanting to work in the summer Parks and Rec tennis program, and for junior and adult tennis players who want to understand the game better and improve their own games. High school coaches and assistant coaches who have not taken the course should seriously consider doing so. The last PTR workshop in Alaska was about 10 years ago.
