High School Tennis Practice Underway
August 6, 2009The 2009 high school tennis season is in full swing despite a smoky
beginning.
The season's first matches are non-conference scrimmages with Juneau on
August 21-22 at The Athletic Club outdoor courts. Conference play
begins for all teams on Monday, August 24. Come watch the action
and cheer on your team.

High School Tennis Information
All high school students - Come out for your high school tennis team!
Tennis is an out-sourced high school sport in the Fairbanks North Star
Borough School District. If you are home-schooled student interested in
playing, please contact Gwen Ramras at 388-8334.FTA has a No-Cut policy. All ability levels are welcome.
All you need for the first practice, Monday, August 3rd, is a completed Physical Exam form, a Parental Consent form & tennis shoes. Local health care providers have the physical exam forms in their offices. The coaches will have parental consent forms and registration forms to be
completed at the first practice.
Shorts with pockets are advisable. Bring your racquet if you have one. Loaner racquets are available.
Practice begins Monday, August 3 at the locations and times below:
URGENT – You must have a completed physical before you can participate at the first practice. No practices will be counted unless the physical and parental consent forms are completed. 10 practices are required to participate in matches.
-Ben Eielson: Eielson AFB courts (near Fitness Center), 5:30pm – Coach Gerald Jacobs
-Hutchison: Dan Ramras Community Tennis Courts by Lathrop High, 5:30pm – Coach Carol Woodard
-Lathrop: DRCTC, 2:45pm – Coach Milo Griffin, Asst. Gayle Hazen, JV CoachPatti Boerjte, Asst. Nancy Uptgraft
-Monroe: DRCTC, 3:30pm – Coach Bobby Trujillo
-North Pole: North Pole HS courts, 4:30pm – Coach Carol Smith

The Tennis Registration fee for 2009 is $175.00. Please bring fee with completed forms to coach by Aug. 6th. Scholarships are available on a financial need basis.
