High School Tennis Information
All high school students - Come out for your high school tennis team!
Tennis is an out-sourced high school sport in the Fairbanks North Star
Borough School District. If you are home-schooled student interested in
playing, please contact Gwen Ramras at 388-8334.FTA has a No-Cut policy. All ability levels are welcome.
All you need for the first practice, Monday, August 2, is a completed Physical Exam form, a Parental Consent form(PDF) & tennis shoes. Shorts with pockets are advisable. Bring your racquet if you have one. Loaner racquets are available.
Local health care providers have physical exam forms in their offices. Physicals are parents' responsibility and are good for one year. There are no in-school physicals available. Coaches will have parental consent forms and registration forms to be completed at the first practice. The registration fee
URGENT – You must have a completed physical before you can participate at the first practice. No practices will be counted unless the physical and parental consent forms are completed. Ten practices are required to participate in matches.
Practice begins Monday, August 2 at the locations and times below:
-Ben Eielson: Eielson AFB courts (near Fitness Center), Time TBA - Coach Jacob Tacket
-Hutchison: Dan Ramras Community Tennis Courts by Lathrop High, 5:30pm – Coach Carol Woodard
-Lathrop: DRCTC, 2:45pm – Coach Milo Griffin
-Monroe: DRCTC, 3:30pm – Coach Bobby Trujillo
-North Pole: North Pole High courts, 2:45pm - Coach Peter Baksis
-West Valley: The Alaska Club outdoor courts, 3pm - Coach Debbie Miller
The Tennis Registration fee for 2010 is $150.00. Please bring fee with completed forms to coach by Aug 5. Scholarships are available on a financial need basis.
